From 26 to 29 March 2026, the POMATO project was present at the 58th edition of AGRO – International Fair of Agriculture, Livestock and Food, held at Forum Braga, Portugal. Represented by Food4Sustainability, the project joined one of the region’s best-known agricultural events to raise awareness, engage stakeholders, and strengthen links with the farming community.
AGRO is a major regional fair that attracts thousands of visitors every year, bringing together professionals, producers, businesses, and the general public around key topics in agriculture and food systems. For POMATO, the event offered a valuable opportunity to introduce the project to a broad audience and promote its activities directly on site.
Reaching key stakeholders face to face
During the fair, the Food4Sustainability team focused on promoting the POMATO project among visitors, with particular attention to:
- conventional and organic potato and tomato growers,
- retailers, wholesalers, and distributors,
- companies linked to agricultural inputs,
- end consumers,
- media representatives and the wider public.
To support this outreach, the team distributed brochures and shared a QR code linked to the stakeholder information form, making it easier for interested participants to learn more and express interest in joining the project.
Building visibility for POMATO
Participating in AGRO helped increase the visibility of POMATO in a lively and highly attended environment. Beyond direct conversations with visitors, the fair allowed the project to be presented in a practical and accessible way, helping people better understand its goals and inviting them to take part.
The activity proved useful as a public outreach action, reinforcing POMATO’s presence and creating new opportunities for future engagement.
A valuable step in public outreach
Events like AGRO play an important role in connecting innovation projects with real-world audiences. For POMATO, this participation was an important step in its public outreach and case-study promotional efforts, helping bring the project closer to farmers and other actors across the value chain.
By being present where agricultural communities meet, exchange ideas, and discover new initiatives, POMATO continues to build awareness and foster relationships that can support its long-term impact.
