From 6 to 14 June 2026, the POMATO project was presented at the National Agriculture Fair 2026 (Feira Nacional de Agricultura 2026 – FNA26) in Santarém, Portugal, with the participation of Food4Sustainability (F4S).

Recognised as the largest event of the agricultural sector in Portugal, FNA26 brought together producers, companies, technology providers, consumers, media representatives and the wider public. With around 180,000 visitors, the fair served as an important meeting point for the agricultural community and a dynamic space for presenting innovation, exchanging knowledge and connecting different actors from the agri-food value chain.

The event showcased a wide range of machinery, equipment, agricultural technologies, inputs and services, while also offering visitors the opportunity to discover high-quality agricultural products and engage directly with producers. In this context, FNA26 represented a valuable opportunity for POMATO to increase its visibility and connect with relevant stakeholders.

During the fair, the POMATO project was presented through a project roll-up and brochures, helping visitors learn more about the project’s objectives and its work on healthier and more sustainable potato and tomato production. A key purpose of the participation was to engage with potato and tomato producers and invite them to become part of the project’s stakeholder network.

By reaching producers, technology and innovation actors, consumers, media and the general public, POMATO’s presence at FNA26 contributed to strengthening the project’s communication and stakeholder engagement activities. Events such as FNA26 are essential for bringing research closer to practice, creating dialogue with the agricultural sector and ensuring that project results are shaped by real needs from the field.
