POMATO at Europatat Congress 2025

July 22, 2025

From June 11 to 13, 2025, Lille, France became the heart of the European potato trade as it hosted the Europatat Congress 2025, an annual event bringing together stakeholders from across the potato value chain.

Held at the Hotel Barrière Lille, this year’s edition gathered more than 120 participants from across Europe, including retailers, wholesalers, input-related industries, and media representatives, reaffirming the congress as a pivotal platform for discussion and networking in the sector.

The congress unfolded over two engaging days:

  • Day 1 was dedicated to internal meetings for Europatat members, allowing the association to align on strategic priorities and strengthen internal collaboration.

  • Day 2 opened its doors to a broader audience, including non-members, journalists, and industry stakeholders, for a public conference featuring insightful discussions on emerging trends, market challenges, and policy developments impacting the potato sector.

POMATO project was promoted by Europatat at the Congress, which helped raise awareness about ongoing research and innovation within the potato industry and highlighted the project’s contribution to a more sustainable and resilient agri-food system.

The Europatat Congress is more than just an annual meeting – it’s a forum for influence, innovation, and integration. By bringing together diverse stakeholders under one roof, the congress provides a unique space to address challenges, share knowledge, and shape the future of Europe’s potato trade.
