19th Congress of the International Union of Microbiological Societies (IUMS)

The IUMS Biennial Congress 2026 will take place from 4 to 6 November 2026 in Lisbon, Portugal. Organised by the International Union of Microbiological Societies (IUMS), the Congress brings together medical and non-medical microbiologists working across bacteriology, virology, mycology and other areas of eukaryotic microbiology.
Under the theme “Beyond the Microscope: AI & Innovation in Microbiology,” IUMS 2026 will showcase emerging technologies, innovative research approaches and the latest scientific advances shaping the future of microbiology. The programme will provide opportunities to hear from international experts, present new research, exchange knowledge and connect with the global microbiology community.
