POMATO project overview and Kick-off Meeting - Press release #1
POMATO project: Innovative solutions for safeguarding potato and tomato crops
The EU-funded POMATO project (May 2025–April 2029) unites 16 partners from Europe and Latin America to combat Clavibacter sepedonicus and Ralstonia solanacearum in potato and tomato crops. With €6.5 million in Horizon Europe funding, POMATO will deliver sustainable, integrated pest management strategies combining rapid diagnostics, nature-based controls, and digital decision-support tools. Coordinated by the University of Burgos, the project aligns with the EU Green Deal and Farm to Fork strategy, aiming to protect food security and strengthen agricultural resilience.
