POMATO Newsletter – Issue #5 (July 2026)

This issue brings together POMATO’s latest activities from May, June and July, including project progress, international events, partner exchanges, stakeholder engagement opportunities and a closer look at the next POMATO case study.

Highlights from this issue:

Stakeholder engagement: the POMATO Stakeholder Information Form is available in 10 languages, making it easier for stakeholders across different regions to share their needs, experience and expectations.
Case study in Poland: an introduction to POMATO’s fourth case study, which will test early-detection tools, resistant and susceptible potato varieties and biocontrol solutions against Clavibacter sepedonicus under controlled conditions.
One year of POMATO: highlights from the M12 General Assembly in Lisbon, where partners reviewed progress and coordinated the next steps across research, validation, communication and stakeholder engagement.
Events and outreach: POMATO at Europatat Congress 2026, Portugal’s National Agriculture Fair and Ecuador’s National Potato Day.
Partner collaboration: three visits connecting USFQ with FUNDITEC, CBGP and FERTICO, strengthening exchange across pathogen research, detection technologies, biocontrol and practical crop-protection solutions.
Project synergies: six EU-funded projects joined forces for the International Day of Potato webinar on sustainable solutions for potato health.
Looking ahead: upcoming project participation in scientific events in Spain and Ecuador.
