Europatat is the European Potato Trade Association, which represents both national associations and individual companies involved in the trade of seed, ware and early potatoes throughout Europe. Its members include a wide range of traders (including breeders, distributors, storers, packers, importers and exporters) delivering seed potatoes to farmers, as well as raw material to the food industry, packed potatoes to the retailers and food service sector.

Europatat’s work within POMATO will ensure that the professional interest of the sector meets the goals of the project. Europatat will also facilitate the collection of data and information towards all the members, influence policy decision-makers about the project’s outcomes and promote project’s networking and communication activities.

“European agriculture faces unprecedented challenges from climate change, plant health diseases, and more. Europatat believes that collaboration with researchers and industry professionals is key to addressing these issues. Therefore, we are glad to be a part of the POMATO project.”
Led by the University of Burgos, POMATO brings together 16 partners from top universities, research organizations, SMEs, agrochemical companies, and farmers. Our international partners from regions severely affected by Cs/Rs, like Colombia and Ecuador, ensure that we exchange best practices and adapt solutions to different farming environments.
